Fireflies joins calls. Knack. joins you in the room.
Fireflies sends its notetaker into your video meetings and builds a searchable call library with summaries and analytics. Knack. covers the meetings no bot can attend: in-person conversations captured on your phone, turned into verified recaps, sent follow-ups, CRM updates, and close-rate insights by lead source.

Fireflies vs Knack pricing VERIFIED AUGUST 2026
Fireflies
Knack.
Fireflies is cheaper per seat and that is the correct comparison only if you are buying the same thing. Note the per-recording ceilings: 2 hours on Pro, 3 on Business. In-home sales appointments run long, and the last twenty minutes are where price, objections, and the decision live, so a cap is at its most expensive exactly when the conversation matters most. The deeper difference is that Fireflies is a bot that joins a call. In field sales there is no call, so the seat price is not really the question.
What Fireflies does better
Fireflies has the broader integration surface by a wide margin. It plugs into the CRMs, the project tools, the dialers, and the automation platforms a mid-size company already runs. Knack integrates with Google Calendar, Google Drive, and Housecall Pro today, with more coming. If you need it to talk to nine systems on Monday, that is not us yet.
Their conversation intelligence across a call-based team is mature: searchable call libraries, talk-time metrics, topic tracking, and team analytics built up over years of video-call data. For an inside sales floor, that is a genuinely strong product.
It is also cheaper and has a usable free tier. Business at $19 per seat billed yearly against $149 for Knack Team is not a close comparison on price, and if your meetings are calls, Fireflies is the better purchase.
Where Fireflies cannot help, and why it is structural
Fireflies works by adding a bot to a scheduled video call. That bot needs an invite, a link, and a participant list. Every strength above is built on that foundation.
A field sales meeting has none of them. A rep parks outside a house, knocks, and spends an hour and a half at a kitchen table. There is no calendar link for the bot to join, no participant list for it to appear in, and no host to admit it. The category's core mechanic simply has nothing to attach to, and this is true of every bot-based notetaker, not just Fireflies.
That means the meetings where a home services business actually makes its money are the exact meetings its notetaker cannot see. The office calls get captured beautifully. The $18,000 roof replacement conversation does not.
Knack inverts it. There is no bot, because there is nothing to join. The rep's phone goes on the table, consent is asked out loud as part of the greeting, and capture happens on device so a basement with no signal does not lose the meeting.
The recording cap is not a footnote
Fireflies caps a single recording at 2 hours on Pro and 3 on Business. For a 30-minute standup that is irrelevant. For in-home sales it is a real constraint, because a first-visit estimate for a large job routinely runs past 90 minutes and sometimes past two hours.
The problem is not that you lose an hour of audio. It is which hour you lose. A long appointment goes discovery, walkthrough, options, price, objections, decision. The cap always falls at the end, which is precisely where the number was said, where the competitor got mentioned, and where the deal was won or lost.
Knack has no per-recording cap and no monthly minute cap on any plan, because a rep who is rationing minutes stops recording the appointments that seem routine, and the routine ones are where the pattern lives.
Running both
This is a reasonable setup for a business with both an office and a field crew. Fireflies covers the video calls, the vendor meetings, and anything with a join link. Knack covers the appointments.
One thing to decide deliberately: which system is the customer record. Two archives means someone has to remember which one holds the conversation about the second bathroom. If your revenue happens in person, make Knack the customer memory and let Fireflies be the call library.
Choose Fireflies if
- Your pipeline runs on scheduled video calls
- You want a searchable library of call recordings
- Call metrics like talk time drive your coaching
- You need a wide integration surface today
- Cost per seat is the deciding factor
Choose Knack if
- Deals close across a table, not a screen
- Reps should leave with the follow-up already sent
- Owners need to see which lead sources actually close
- Appointments run past two hours and cannot be truncated
- There is no calendar invite for a bot to join
Can we use both?
Some teams do: a call bot for the remote pipeline, Knack for the field. If most revenue happens in rooms, Knack is the system of record where it counts.
Does Knack have a meeting bot?
No, by design. There is no call to join in field sales. Capture happens on the rep's phone, with the customer's consent, wherever the conversation happens.
Is Fireflies cheaper than Knack?
Yes. Fireflies Business is $19 per seat billed yearly against $149 for Knack Team, and there is a free tier. They are priced for different jobs: Fireflies transcribes and analyzes calls, Knack captures in-person meetings and then sends the follow-up, updates the CRM, and reports close rate by lead source.
Can Fireflies record an in-person meeting?
Its mobile app can capture audio, but the product is built around a bot joining a scheduled call, and everything strong about it assumes that. In a customer's kitchen there is no invite, no link, and no participant list, so you are using a general recorder rather than the product they built.
What is the recording length limit?
Fireflies caps a single recording at 2 hours on Pro and 3 on Business. In-home estimates for large jobs regularly run past 90 minutes, and the end of the appointment is where price, objections, and the decision happen. Knack has no per-recording or monthly cap on any plan.
Do I need to tell customers a bot is recording?
With Knack there is no bot to explain. The rep asks in one sentence as part of the greeting and the phone shows a visible recording state, which is the honest approach anyway and is required outright in the roughly fifteen US states with all-party consent laws.
Can Fireflies tell me which lead sources close best?
No. That requires joining the lead source, what was said in the room, and the outcome. Fireflies has strong analytics across calls it attended, but in field sales it never attended the meeting that decided the deal.
We have an office team and a field team. What do you recommend?
Fireflies for the office calls, Knack for the appointments. Then pick one to be the customer record so nobody has to remember which archive a conversation lives in. If your revenue happens in person, that should be Knack.
