INTEGRATION · HOUSECALL PRO

The Housecall Pro note nobody has time to write

Built with you during onboarding, and included with an annual Team plan. Connected before you go live.

Housecall Pro already knows the customer, the job, and where the lead came from. What it cannot know is what was said in the house. Knack records the appointment on the rep's phone and writes the quoted price, the objections, the outcome and the next step back onto the job, so the CRM finally reflects the conversation instead of four words typed at 9pm. We connect it during onboarding and it is working before you go live.

Why Housecall Pro matters most to us

Because it is where our customers already are. Housecall Pro is the operating system for a large share of small US home services businesses: scheduling, dispatch, invoicing, and the customer record all live there. A meeting intelligence product that asked those teams to abandon it would deserve to fail.

It also holds the other half of the moat. Knack knows what happened in the room. Housecall Pro knows where the lead came from and whether the job was won. Neither is interesting alone. Joined, they answer the question every owner actually has, which is not "what did my rep say" but "which marketing spend produces jobs, and why do the others die."

What actually moves between the two

In one direction, Knack reads the job and the customer so a recording attaches itself to the right visit without the rep tagging anything, and reads the lead source, which is the field that makes attribution possible and that nobody values until they see it joined to outcomes.

In the other direction, Knack writes back what a rep never has time to type: the price that was quoted, the objections raised and what kind they were, competitors mentioned by name, the commitments each side made, the outcome signal, and the next step with a date. Written onto the job, in plain language, right after the appointment rather than that night.

The rep does nothing. That is the design goal. Any integration that requires a tired person to press a button after their last appointment gets used for two weeks and then quietly abandoned.

What moves, in each direction
FieldDirectionWhat it enables
Customer and jobHousecall Pro → KnackThe recording attaches to the right visit with no tagging
Lead sourceHousecall Pro → KnackThe attribution join: close rate by where the lead came from
Job outcomeHousecall Pro → KnackWon or lost, which is what makes the close-rate number real
Quoted priceKnack → Housecall ProThe number said out loud, not the one typed later
ObjectionsKnack → Housecall ProWhy deals stall, grouped by type across every visit
Competitors namedKnack → Housecall ProWho you are actually losing to, per lead source
CommitmentsKnack → Housecall ProWhat each side promised, so nothing gets dropped
Next step and dateKnack → Housecall ProThe follow-up lands on the calendar instead of in someone's head
Visit summary noteKnack → Housecall ProThe note nobody had time to write, on the job record
We configure which fields write back, and in what format. Some businesses want the full summary on the job; others want only price, outcome and next step, and nothing that would read awkwardly if a customer ever saw it.

What the owner gets that they cannot get today

Close rate by lead source, with the reason attached. Not just that one source closes at 15 percent and another at 45, but that price comes up around minute 40 in almost every lost visit from the first, and you can tap and hear it said.

A visit history that reads like a conversation instead of a receipt. When a customer calls back in March about a quote from January, whoever answers can see what was actually discussed, including the part about the second bathroom that never made it into the job notes.

And an honest picture of what the team is promising. Commitments made in the room are extracted per visit, so the gap between what was promised and what got scheduled stops being invisible.

Does Knack replace Housecall Pro?

No, and it should not. Housecall Pro stays the system of record for the customer, the job, the schedule and the invoice. Knack fills the one thing it has no way to capture, which is what was actually said during the appointment.

Does the rep have to do anything after the visit?

No. The recording attaches to the right job and the note is written back without anyone pressing a button, because an integration that depends on a tired rep at 9pm is an integration that gets abandoned.

What is the lead source join, in plain terms?

Housecall Pro knows a lead came from Angi, or a referral, or a yard sign. Knack knows what happened in that appointment and how it went. Put them together across a few hundred visits and you get close rate per source with the reasons attached, which is usually the number that changes where the marketing money goes.

Can I control what gets written back?

Yes, and we set that up with you. Some businesses want the whole summary on the job; others want only the price, the outcome and the next step. It is a configuration decision, not a fixed behaviour.

How long does it take?

It is part of onboarding, not a later phase. Your connection is working before you go live, because a meeting intelligence tool that is not wired into where your work already happens is a tool your reps will stop opening in three weeks.

Is there a setup fee?

Integration setup is included with an annual Team plan. We connect Knack to what you run as part of onboarding, and it is working before you go live. Genuinely unusual work, such as an in-house system with no documented API, is quoted separately, and we will tell you that on the call rather than after.

What if we use ServiceTitan or Jobber instead?

We connect those too. Tell us which you run and it gets wired up during onboarding the same way.
